Debbie & Doc - Maternity Photoshoot

Last Saturday I had the chance to capture the special pregnancy moments of Debbie & David (Doc). This beautiful couple were my first wedding back in 2009 and on Saturday I got the chance to continue on their journey as they prepare to welcome a baby into their family. We had beautiful weather and a quiet time at North Shore again, it was just beautiful! To Debbie & Doc, THANK YOU, for letting me continue with you on your wonderful journey! I cant wait to meet this little man :) xx Kate

My two besties spent a week up on the Sunny Coast, flying up from country SA. And of course, in between all our adventures, I had to do some photos for them! Anyways, the afternoon we picked went from beautiful at 2pm to storming at 3.30pm! So we had a bit of a stormy afternoon but the photos turned out great! They had so much fun getting splashed on by huge waves and just being kids again :) I'm only posting up a few of my favourites and they're all in sepia this time :) Something different, hope you enjoy!

Christine's eyes are amazing!! While Dan was trying to make us both both, he cooperated for a few photos :)

My favourite image of the shoot was the one on the left here, just beautiful!

Anyways, will get down to blogging our Noosa adventures...not at 2.20am in the morning though, I should go to bed now...well I should've gone to bed hours ago but my insomnia is keeping me up...so I'm editing!

Catherine's Beautiful Maternity Photoshoot!

Last week, I had the opportunity to do a good friend of mine's Maternity Photos. The weather was PERFECT, not a cloud in the sky! We ventured to beautiful North Shore to use the perfect white sandy beaches, beautiful sand dunes and great scrubby paths. I have to give absolute credit to Cat, she was open to everything, including walking through the scrubby parklands behind, not knowing where we were stepping most of the time! She was an absolute natural in front of the camera and she just glowed! We did some photos under the trees and in the scrub before walking down the dunes for some beach photos! The blue skies were amazing, the colours just great! And we even got the right time of day to get silhouette photos: the whole afternoon was perfect!

Then Cat's mum, Jane, joined us for some photos and that was truly special! Thank you Cat for the wonderful afternoon :) xx Kate

A Day at Movie World!!

So...my besties came up from SA for a whole week, it was sooooo good to see them again! They made their first trip up here last August for two weeks and we had a ball of fun! I loved showing Queensland off to them! I've had two trips to SA since so they came back up at the end of August for some more fun!! While the weather was NOT the best, raining most of the week, we worked with it and enjoyed some outings! But best of all was a trip to Movie World!!

I was born in Qld and have lived here for 17 out of 21 years of my life and yet still NEVER been to Movie World! I've done Dreamworld a good handful of times, Seaworld twice and I've lost track of Wet n Wild trips....and last year we did Seaworld and Dreamworld! So this time we hit up Movie World! I'm a bit of an adrenalin junkie, although I am afraid of heights...good combination hahaha :P We left at 6am to beat the traffic on the Gateway Mwy and we did really well getting down there at 8.20am! So we took a quick drive up to Tamborine Mountain, what a great view and drive! Before heading back down the mountain to Movie World by 9.45!

The Superman Escape & Batman Slingshot are so big and tall...I braved it....AND LOVED THEM!!!!!!! I had to go again and again!!! Sooooooo goood!!! I did go on the Lethal Weapon 2 but hated it due to the fact my ears got squashed and hit so hard with my head going side to side!

Anyways, we saw all the shows, LOVED the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster, we did that like 10 times, at the end we did it 7 times in a row JUST to get a good photo of all 3 of us...which we did!!! Before we ended the day on a high and headed to Maccas/KFC across the highway to eat something before the 2hr drive home and to avoid the peak hour traffic!

Anyways, I didnt take my big Nikon baby, my Lowepro Backpack weighs in at nearly 10kg so I opted to take my Samsung WB650 compact camera, which I LOVE anyways!! So heres some favourites from the day!

MOVIE WORLD!!!!

The Superman Escape - Looks daunting, its freaking awesome!!!!!!! That big drop is the BEST part!!

Christine and me had some photos :) With Bugs Bunny & Lola...as well as Daffy Duck & Tweety Bird!

And we then ventured onto our first ride of the day!! The Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster! We expected a cool kids ride, OMG it was epic and soooo good, the turns were so quick and rolling down the rollercoaster backwards was crazily cool....in the dark!!!

And we got off, we explored the old Western Town....much to our disappointment the Wild West Falls was closed for maintence :(

So then we headed over to the Looney Tunes Kids side of things...and found Scooby-Doo going for a ride!

We went on the Carasoul (as big kids do) and I found out that it was Daffy Duck who hit me in the head with a hockey stick leaving my big scar...not during my hockey game back in April! And then we got the Rocket Coaster!

Before we hit the best part of the day, the Hollywood Stunt Drivers Show!!! The crowd was HUGE and they spent alot of time warming us up for some action!! We were ready for something BIG...

And then it started...one word - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesnt matter if you're not a car fan, it was epic!! So much fun and laughter and it was a great show!!!

The cars were fast and the drivers sooooo talented! I want their jobs!! This guy is the director ^^ and he ran the show! It was so well done!!!

Yeah see, I dont think Murphy (my beloved car) would ever get up on two wheels, I'm a bit of a Grandma driver (with intense road rage) and neither will she be spinning around corners like that!!!

And then it finished with a BIG BANG!!! What an explosion!! We could feel the heat from in the stands!!! Later on, we were out under the undercover area getting food and we could feel the heat from there!!

Okay then...time to brave the Superman Escape!!!! Lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

Soooo I took a Selfie!! Hahahaha! Christine finally got to try her Churros!!! And I got stamped!!

And our lunch got interrupted by the Batman Show...this was great!!!

NB. I am NOT a Harry Potter fan! I've never read a book, watched a full movie or had any interest in it! I got these photos for my Harry Potter friends!!

The bank that Bonnie & Clyde robbed and Clyde's car (which had bullet holes in it) And a cool scooter on the side of the bank!

Before it was time to go Shopping!!! First stop, the Scooby Doo Store!!

While I waited outside in the cool breeze, I took some cool photos of the cool clouds!!

Then we hit up Sideshow Alley!! Christine & Dan both popped the 4/4 balloons each and took home the big prizes!!!

So I had a photo with a gun, then Christine found a coffin for a photo & then there was Scooby-Doo again!

Christine & I FINALLY got the photo we had been wanting all day with the Scooby-Doo crew!!! And here is Christines Bugs Bunny sticking out of her bag, she won him on the dart balloons!

Took a walk through Lethal Weapon set on the way to the ride. Found this very cool red door!! And then Dan & ventured onto the Lethal Weapon 2 ride...it wasnt great :( The ride was good, but our heads got whacked from side to side and my ears were sooooo sore and red, the sides of my head was bruised :( It was such a big disappointment!! Soooooo we went back to the Superman Escape and went on that a few times again!! Before heading back to the Scooby Doo Coaster and eventually at the end the Batman Slingshot again! We got Christine on it, not once, but twice!!! Yay!! A great way to finish the day!!!

Finally we headed for some good food and checked on our facebook pages before I drove us all back to the coast!! What a Day!!!

Two Beautiful Doggies - Models in the Making!

One cold Sunday morning, before the rain came in, I met up with Scott and his two dogs Aj & Noah! Scott and Brooke wanted some photos of their two beautiful dogs and bought one of the 1500 Liker Specials Deals! While the dogs got distracted by my two barking Labradors whom I had tied up (I was on my way to the 4 Paws Dog Walk) they soon settled. While Noah was very comfy in front of the camera and modeled it up, Aj took a bit of convincing, but soon he was modeling it up for the camera too!

Anyways, here's a few favourites from the cold, windy morning: so totallly worth it thought!!!

Another beautiful family session!

So its been a few weeks since I last blogged! I've unfortunately been on halfspeed net after we went over our limit! So will slowly be catching up on my blogging!

Two weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity of doing Spencer & Stacey's first family photoshoot with little T. The afternoon blew in rain and storms but it managed to hold off from raining while we were there! Taken in one of my most favourite photoshoot locations - North Beach - it was a quiet afternoon and we were all our own for most of the shoot, which was fantastic! Spencer and Stacey, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to capture your beautiful little family! xx Kate

Vanessa's Gorgeous Family!

Saturday morning beamed bright and sunny: and a little bit warm might I add! The beach was beckoning me, camera was keen for a work out: let's go!

I was lucky enough to find a park along the esplanade at Mooloolaba, very rare! And then 5 mins later I met up with Vanessa and her gorgeous family! Will be doing the second part of this shoot before Christmas at Buderim Forest Park :) Cant wait! These kids made me giggle and laugh, they are just beautiful!

Kimmy's Family - Buderim Forest Park

Location: Buderim Forest Park - The large grassed, picnic area.
Time: 9.30am - great time of the day!

This past Sunday morning I woke up to a beautiful sun, shining day! Fantastic, I had a family shoot awaiting me! I jumped out of bed and started preparing for the shoot! Checked my camera bag over twice as I always do and I was ready! I headed to Buderim Forest Park, a favourite place of mine to shoot! Stopped at Maccas on the way for a "Fruit Fizz" drink for my fuzzy sunday morning head and I was ready!

Arrived and off we walked across the picnic area to the edge of the rainforest! While we chatted on about finding spiders, snakes and who knows what else, I scouted the lighting and decided on a great spot in the shade on the side of the creek!

Shyla is due just before Christmas with a baby boy so this family has an exciting Christmas ahead!

So to Kim, thanks for sharing a special morning with your family and letting me tag along :) I hope you enjoy the photos. xx Kate

So I need to update my blog!

Well its been nearly two weeks since my last post, goodness I am a bit slack! Anyways, I've had a busy few weeks!

I had a trip to Rockhampton for the Qld Vets Womens Hockey State Champs where I umpired! Had an absolute ball in Rocky, weather was balmy and hot (I got a tan!) and I umpired well. Had a terrible time flying :( Due to a sinus infection my ears were both blocked and one of them became so painful I was screaming in pain! But other than that, it was a great weekend!

Only two more weeks until hockey finals and its heating up!! Games are intense and I'm getting pumped up! I'm a big fan of finals, you get so much more pumped up and excited!! I play on the field for Division 1 and as goal keeper for Division 2, both my teams are currently on top of the ladder, so gearing up for the finals!

Haven't had much to get out with the camera lately :( Other than photos of hockey, not too much to show! Looking forward to a few family shoots in the next few weeks! As well as a few friends maternity piccies! Hoping the beautiful weather stays around for all those shoots! So looking forward to the next few weeks!

I'm now sitting on 1647 Likers and growing everyday! Tonight marked the finish of the July Print Sale, in which over 50 prints were sold! My Latest Photography Win!!

So this year has been an exciting year for me with my photography! So far I've entered 3 Photography competitions with 3 results!!

My latest and third win was two 2nd places in the MyRegion National Photographic Competition - whom Steve Parish was one of the judges, what an honour!! I had a 2nd Place winner in the Nature Category and 2nd Place winner in the Landscapes Category!

My first win for the year was in the NSW Australia Day Council & AussieVault's Living Australian Photography Competition! My photo "Cricket at the 'GABBA" was one of the 5 winners picked to go onto postage stamps! So in the first week of July, my stamp was realeased!!

My second win for the year was through The Weather Channel! They hosted a "Weather" Photography competition to find 12 images for their 2012 Calender. My photo was one of the 12 selected, what an honour! The calender comes out in September, I cant wait!!

Anyways, I've had a very good year so far and I am ever thankful for everything that has happened from that! I enjoy being able to show off my images to the public view :)
